Professional Life
I've been producing video since I was 13 and most of what I know has been self-taught. I've been involved in over 50 productions to date including a documentary about BASE-jumping at Bridge Day in Fayetteville, WV, promotional material for the 35th IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference in Honolulu, HI, a recruitment video for the Ohio Army National Guard, and various other award-winning-productions.
In recent years I've led a team through multiple 48-Hour Film competitions. So far we've taken home 8 awards from these types of competitions including awards for Best Film, Best Cinematography, Best Special Effects and Best Sound Design. In 2009 we participated in the National Film Challenge and our film My Birthday was chosen as one of the top 16 finalists out of 186 teams participating internationally. 'My Birthday' took home three awards including the award for Best Cinematography.
Floating Horizon
Floating Horizon Films is the new face of Hahoozhafax Jumangi Productions, a production company I started back in 2003. By 2010 I realized that my vision, work-flow and goals had dramatically changed. Floating Horizon Films was founded on the principle that change is inevitable. "Floating" refers to not being settled in a definite place while "Horizon" refers to the future. Therefore, the work of Floating Horizon Films focuses on the lives of those whose futures are not set in stone.
Embrace change.
Life is dynamic.
